When you think of Greek islands, the first thing that comes in your mind are the whitewashed houses, pure sands, crystal clear waters, Mediterranean cuisine - who doesn’t want to get away from all the noise and soak up some sun and sea?
Embark on a 9 day sea and land adventure of a lifetime around the Cyclades islands, a hiking paradise, renowned for its pristine beaches, rich history and culture, traditional cuisine, friendly locals and discover some of the secrets that this country has to offer.
A tour for total relaxation, outdoor activities, experiences and a good insight of summer in Greece. All islands, Naxos, Koufonisi, Schinousa and Amorgos have picturesque architecture, stunning beaches and relaxing atmosphere. While each has its own unique character, they all share an ideal climate, safe waters and an abundance of charm. It's no wonder that they're extremely popular among travellers from antiquity to modern day.

ITINERARY
Welcome day - Athens tour
Upon arrival in Athens International Airport, you are met and welcomed by our tear leader. Today we will explore together the city of Athens and its numerous cultural places of interest. We will visit the historical center of Athens, by walking into Monastiraki the most famous flea old market in Athens where you can find clothes, old vinyls, antiquities of all sorts, even some rare and surprising objects you would ever expect to find anywhere. We will walk through the labyrinth-like alleys of Plaka the oldest and probably the most characteristic neighborhood of modern Athens with whitewashed houses just underneath Acropolis.
We will end our day by having a dinner in a traditional tavern where with our guide we will discuss the week's ahead itinerary and answer any question

Arrival in Naxos - Explore Chora, the main village
Today we travel to Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades islands and, according to mythology, is where Zeus was raised. Naxos is infused with lively villages, sandy beaches, proud historical monuments, tradition, many cultural events and a full-range of outdoor activities. We will have a walking tour in the old picturesque town with its craft shops and whitewashed houses and wander through, the narrow streets.
We will visit Portara, standing at the entrance of the port, a large marble gate, the only remnant of the temple dedicated to Apollo, which dates back to the 7th century BC. We then transfer to Melanes village for dinner and relax.

Hike in Naxos - Explore traditional villages and beaches
Thanks to the maintenance of the old communication pathways, Naxos is one of the most interesting islands in Cyclades from the hiker's point of view. Today we hike the lush valley of Tragea, a very nice, easy walk that will takes us through several villages and to one historical site. We will start from the village of Melanes, walk on ancient marble paths, enjoy the views along the way and visit the Kouroi of Flerio, the big statues of 6th century BC, where they are considered to express the perception of the time for the gods, who appear as anthropomorphic but at the same time much taller than ordinary mortals.
After the hiking what a better way to relax than going to a beach for a nice and refreshing swim. During the rest of the day we will visit two more traditional villages Halki and Apeiranthos maybe the most beautiful and authentic ones of the island with labyrinthine alleys with arches, cool squares under the shade of plane trees, traditional cafes and taverns serving local delicatessens..

Arrive at Schinoussa island
Later it is time for sea kayak an activity that combines fun, physical exercise and a lot of dives in the sea. Certified sea kayak guides will give a short lesson with all the necessary information for the proper use of paddles and kayak at sea. We will discover more amazing beaches while paddling on the blue waters of the island. Later at night we can relax and enjoy a drink in one of the local bars away from the hustle and the bustle.

Arrive at Amorgos island
Dinner in a local tavern while discussing the next days program.Transfer to Chora, the main traditional village of the island

The evening’s activity is pottery class, an art lost in time. A local ceramist will introduce you to the wonderful world of ceramics, where clay becomes art, teaching you the materials and techniques of the art in her laboratory. Under her guidance, you will be able to create your own artefact, a unique souvenir to take back home!
Later we will return to Chora, for dinner and why not to taste the local traditional drink “Psimeni Raki” in one of the bars of the village.

Accomodation
During this journey we will stay in cozy family run hotels, ranked as 3 star. The accommodation will be based on double occupancy and if you are travelling by yourself, you will be paired up with another single client of the same sex. Single rooms are available for a supplementary cost. Free wifi is available in most of the hotels

Food in Greece
Greek food is absolutely excellent and very healthy. It is a huge part of Greek culture. The colourful Mediterranean diet of tasty dishes alongside a fantastic range of fresh vegetables and salads, the excellent ingredients, the lengthy procedure involved in preparing the food, the culture of sharing dishes with others, eating with friends or with the family, it is social event where you get to share a lot more than just food.
