The hiking route starts right on the western mouth of the gorge at the single-arched stone bridge of Klidonia, a masterpiece of local stone craftsmanship. It follows the tracks of the Ice Age hunters in this peaceful route, along the winding course of the river through the spectacular Voidomatis gorge. On the way, mostly shaded by timeless plane woods, you will pass the Stone Age rock-shelters (dating back 15,000 – 9,500 years) as well as an abandoned monastery. As you will realize, both are inspired choices, driven by necessity; survival on the one hand and solitude on the other.

A relaxing break at the sandy riverbanks or an icy swim in the enticing blue-green river pools for the braver are idyllically accompanied by the serene sound of the crystal-clear water. The hike ends at the Aristi bridge where after a short training we will board the rafts for an easy ride back to the bridge of Klidonia. Rafting in Voidomatis is easy and does not require any previous experience.
